For Passengers

What is Sakayna GenSan?
Sakayna GenSan is a community ride connection platform for General Santos City. It helps passengers find and book verified local drivers more easily and safely than posting in Facebook groups.
How is this different from Grab or other apps?
Sakayna is not a transport operator. We don't own vehicles or employ drivers. We are a community-first coordination platform that adds identity verification, trip logging, and complaint handling on top of the informal ride-booking already happening in GenSan. Our fees are also much lower because we respect local fare realities.
Is it free to use as a passenger?
Yes. Passengers pay only the agreed ride fare. There are no booking fees or service charges added to the passenger's fare.
How are drivers verified?
Drivers submit their government-issued ID, vehicle details, and OR/CR during registration. Our admin team reviews each application before the account is activated. Only approved, verified drivers can accept bookings.
What happens if a driver doesn't show up?
You can report the issue directly in the app. No-shows are logged and reviewed by our admin team. Repeated no-show offenses can result in driver suspension.
What vehicles are available?
Phase 1 (now): Motor (motorcycle). Phase 2 (coming soon): Sedan — for up to 4 passengers, airport runs, and family trips. Phase 3 (later): SUV — for groups, extra luggage, and premium bookings.

For Drivers

How much does it cost to join as a driver?
Registration is free. During the pilot launch period, founding drivers pay ₱0 platform fee. After the pilot review, the standard fee is ₱2 per completed motorcycle ride — one of the lowest in the market.
What documents do I need to register?
You need: a valid government-issued ID, your driver's license, vehicle OR/CR (official receipt and certificate of registration), and a working mobile number for verification.
How long does verification take?
Typically 24 to 48 hours after you submit complete documents. You'll receive a notification once your account is approved.
When is the platform fee charged?
Only when a ride is marked completed. Cancelled rides are not charged. Disputed rides may be held for admin review before the fee is applied.
Can I still take bookings from Facebook while using Sakayna?
Yes. Sakayna doesn't require exclusivity. You can continue your existing bookings while also receiving verified bookings through the platform.

Where does Sakayna operate?
Currently General Santos City and nearby areas in SOCCSKSARGEN Region XII. We plan to expand to other areas in the region after the pilot phase is stable.
Is this app available on the App Store or Google Play?
Not yet. The current version is a web app accessible through any mobile browser — no download needed. A native app may be developed after the pilot phase proves successful.
How do I report a safety concern?
You can report directly inside the app at any point — before, during, or after a trip. Reports go to our admin team for review. Emergency SOS is also available during active rides.

1. Platform Purpose

Sakayna GenSan is a community ride connection platform. It is not a transport operator and does not own or operate vehicles. Its purpose is to verify driver identity, facilitate ride bookings, log trip records, and provide basic complaint and safety support.

2. Driver Verification

All drivers must submit valid identification and vehicle documents before being activated. Verification is reviewed manually by the Sakayna admin team. Approved drivers receive a Verified status on their profile. Unverified drivers cannot accept bookings.

  • Government-issued ID required
  • Driver's license required
  • Vehicle OR/CR required for motor, sedan, and SUV categories
  • Verification review: 24 to 48 hours

3. Platform Fee Policy

Sakayna charges a fixed platform fee per completed ride only. No percentage commission. No monthly subscription. No hidden charges.

  • Motor / Tricycle / Multicab: ₱2 per completed ride
  • Sedan: ₱5 per completed ride (Phase 2)
  • SUV: ₱8 per completed ride (Phase 3)
  • Founding-driver pilot: ₱0 during the pilot launch period
  • Cancelled rides: No fee charged

The fee structure may be reviewed after launch only if the platform can demonstrate measurable value. Drivers will be notified at least 14 days before any fee change.

4. Booking and Cancellation

Passengers and drivers are expected to honor confirmed bookings. Repeated cancellations or no-shows without valid reason may result in account warnings or suspension. The platform logs all booking activity.

  • Cancelled rides are not charged a platform fee
  • Fraudulent cancellations may be reviewed by admin
  • Drivers who repeatedly cancel may have their accounts flagged

5. Safety and Emergency

Sakayna provides basic safety tools during active rides including emergency contact access, SOS shortcut (calls 911), and in-app reporting. The platform logs trip routes and timestamps for all completed and active rides.

Passengers and drivers are encouraged to use these tools if they feel unsafe. Reports are reviewed by the admin team within 24 hours.

6. Data Privacy

Sakayna collects mobile numbers, identity documents (drivers only), trip records, and complaint logs. This data is used solely for platform operations, verification, and safety purposes.

  • Passwords are stored in encrypted form
  • Driver ID documents are accessible only to admin
  • Trip records are retained for dispute resolution
  • Users may request data deletion by contacting admin

7. Complaints and Disputes

Any passenger or driver may file a complaint through the app at any time. Complaints are reviewed by the admin team. Serious violations including fraud, harassment, or unsafe behavior may result in immediate account suspension pending investigation.

8. Account Suspension

Sakayna reserves the right to suspend or deactivate accounts that violate platform policies. This includes but is not limited to fake bookings, identity fraud, repeated no-shows, and reported harassment. Suspended users may appeal through the admin team.

9. Limitation of Liability

Sakayna GenSan is a coordination platform and is not liable for the conduct of individual drivers or passengers during a trip. Users agree to use the platform at their own risk. Safety tools are provided as a supplement, not a guarantee.

10. Policy Updates

This policy may be updated as the platform evolves. Users will be notified of material changes. Continued use of the platform after notification constitutes acceptance of updated terms.
